Sara is the Fund’s herald, delivering its message through the website, newsletters, social media, special publications, engagement events, and the media. Sara grew up in Warren, and is proud to be a part of its manufacturing heritage, having worked at a now-shuttered steel mill while pursuing a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University. Sara spent several years as a business journalist, first in Cleveland then in New York, where she found herself covering Wall Street during the financial crisis for The Associated Press. A volunteer experience at a nonprofit in Harlem that provides free dance classes to girls inspired a career shift. After earning a master’s degree in public service at DePaul University in Chicago, she spent a short time slinging pies at a bakery before coming to Northeast Ohio to work for the Fund. A new mom to James, Sara has put her hobbies of practicing yoga and spinning records on hold while she fully embraces motherhood.
