Fund Names Two New Team Members

Cari Morales, Jonathan Floyd to Lead Programmatic and Organizational Initiatives to Promote Equitable Growth and Opportunity in Northeast Ohio 

CLEVELAND—The Fund for Our Economic Future (Fund) today announced it has added two new staff members: Cari MoralesProgram Manager for Equity & Economic Development, Cuyahoga County, and Jonathan FloydDirector of Finance and Administration. 

Cari Morales brings a wealth of experience in program management and community organizing. Before coming to the Fund, Cari served as National Urban Fellow at the Cleveland Foundation while completing her Master of Policy Management degree from Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy. As a National Urban Fellow, Cari managed grants supporting initiatives focusing on Climate Change Education in Cuyahoga County, assisted with Census 2020 initiatives, and researched the intersection of Philanthropy, Public Policy and Climate Change with a focus of the impacts of Public Transit to make public policy recommendations. She also spent several years with Indianapolis-based Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) managing placemaking and neighborhood development programs. 

The role of Program Manager, Equity & Economic Development, Cuyahoga County is a two-year position fully funded by the Cleveland Foundation and supports equitable economic development efforts of Cuyahoga County’s economic development department led by Ted Carter, Chief Economic Development and Business Officer for the County and called for in the Fund’s The Two Tomorrows report. Through this new, collaborative role, Cari will focus on advancing racial equity in the Cuyahoga County Economic Development Plan and facilitating implementation of the City of East Cleveland Vision plan. Morales will also support the County’s Internal Equity Commission as the County reviews and assesses its current programs with respect to systemic racism and disparities and develop new policies and programs to address identified gaps across County Government. She began at the Fund on August 18. 

As the Fund’s Director of Finance and Administration, Jonathan Floyd will oversee management of the organization’s finances, grants and contracts, human resources and performance metrics. Jonathan has spent 15 years in the finance profession, performing financial analysis, providing forecasting and planning support, and developing strategies to improve operational efficiency and the financial control environment. 

Most recently, Jonathan served as Senior Finance Manager, Clinical Technology Management for Sodexo/University Hospitals Health System. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Florida A&M University and is both a Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Treasury Professional. He started work at the Fund on September 9.
