When they came together and established the Fund in 2004, our founding members helped craft a new role for philanthropy in advancing our region's economic competitivenss. Since that time, our Fund has demonstrated that our region can take concrete actions that result in economic growth and more equitable access to opportunity. Together, we've:
- established a sense of regionalism that works for local communities;
- built an interconnected network of economic development organizations and initiatives that have created and retained jobs, increased payrolls and attracted capital to the region;
- helped increase investment in the region; and
- nurtured a respected network of civic leaders, working effectively and collaboratively to address economic issues and inclusion.
In short, Northeast Ohio is coming back, and our Fund has played an integral part in this change.
But our work is far from finished. Too many people have been left out of our recovery. As we look to our Fund's next decade and beyond, our collaboration is focused on ensuring our growth benefits all people, not just some. While proud of our accomplishments, we are ever mindful that economic transformation doesn't happen overnight, or even in a decade.
