To help close the gap between the demand for qualified workers and the preparation of job seekers, the KeyBank Foundation is pledging $1 million to the nonprofit Towards Employment to kick off a new program to be called Key to Careers.

Over three years, KeyBank's support will help Towards Employment offer a comprehensive workforce training program to more than 1,700 individuals. "We have proven results that our programming connects people to careers, changes their lives and has an economic impact."

The new program is based on the local success of a five-year demonstration project, WorkAdvance, a national pilot project overseen by Towards Employment.
