As part of more than $2 million in grants it is doling out, the GAR Foundation awarded $1 million to the Fund for Our Economic Future to support its work to advance economic growth in Northeast Ohio.
The award, to be paid over three years is was among the $2.06 million in grants to 28 community organizations, according to a Feb. 19 news release.
"The Fund has proven its expertise in understanding the dynamics of our local and regional economy, and supporting effective interventions that can improve Akron's economic future," said Kirstin Toth, senior vice president of GAR Foundation, in a prepared statement.
